{ sunny & 75 }

Wow, what a week! If you live anywhere near the south, you know what I am referring to. With this crazy Icepocalype + Earthquake behind us, I am beyond ready to move onto spring. With warm weather on the horizon, transitioning from winter abruptly into spring can be tricky(especially here in the south, with it being 75 one day and 35 the next). Because today was such a gorgeous day, I threw on my new favorite boyfriend jeans, a tee, and brought a blazer for back-up. I guess you could say this "effortless chic" look has been my go to style lately.. I guess because it's just easy(and comfy). This weather has really made it hard to get into the habit of things, sweaters and Hunters one day and then a tee and heels the next. Who knows what the weather will bring next, but until next time..

    Who says chic looks can't also be sophisticated? At the moment I'm loving classy, yet spunky looks that pop-and green skinnies and leopard were just the pop this tie neck top + cardigan needed. This look is actually one of the easiest to achieve, and looks super classy and put together (when in all actuality I literally threw this together 5 minutes before the shoot.. no kidding!).
A special thanks to  Ashley Page Photography once again for taking these awesome shots!
I hope you enjoyed today's blog post, until next time..

{ mixing stripes + lace }

Friday, December 27, 2013

 So, this week I got the amazing opportunity to work with an awesome local photographer(Ashley Page Photography- check her out if you're located in the Augusta, GA area!) who snapped some great shots so I could finally get my blog up and running! This year more than ever, I-along with everyone else- have been mixing prints and patterns with lace. Pattern mixing is all the rage right now and can be done super quick. Given the great/crazy warm weather we've had this December in Georgia, for the shoot I wore a skirt. If it would have been any cooler, I probably would have thrown on some tights and swapped the booties for some knee high boots. Trying to stay in the same color palette when mixing lace and stripes/pattern is also key, if too many crazy color combos are involved it can just look hectic and like you got dressed in the dark!
Hope you enjoyed my very first blog post, until next time..
