summer on the horizon

Monday, May 21, 2018
Clean lines and warm, soft hues have ruled over everything this summer. From beige to taupe, a color story unlike any in the past has shown up all over the streets of major fashion city's and beach towns alike. Over the past year, new jewelry trends such as rosary beads and minimalistic pieces have shown great growth, and unique, one of a kind pieces have taken a back seat to more simplistic styles. I have become obsessed with this trend, and love that these colors and styles have taken over. Compared to a much more bold look, this trend is much more versatile and offers more longevity than others we have seen over the past couple of years. This mood board that I created offers a visual representation of this trend, and allows for us to see the line structure and color play in a very easy, achievable way.

the perfect shift

Friday, April 20, 2018

Hi there!

I am so excited to be sharing one last look with kensie dresses. This dress is the perfect shift, and I love how conservative yet flirty it is. I love the ivory over the soft pink, and the lace is so tasteful. This dress would be absolutely perfect for graduation or bridal parties and will be stylish for years to come! You can shop this one here and more from kensie here :)

the last picnic

Thursday, April 19, 2018

Last week I went on a lil picnic with the gals from modern minutiae, Roxane and Ade. I have loved getting to know them over the past two semesters and I am thankful to get to spend so much time with them in classes (we have like 4 together LOL).
We have had some weird weather lately (some days 50 degrees and some are 80, literally one day in between), so we really lucked out with a sunny and 75 day! We ended up at the prettiest little park on Auburn's campus, and listened to music while we chowed down on some snacks. I am going to try not to get sentimental, but thinking that this will be one of my last memories on campus is kind of getting to me (sappy- i know). I am not graduating this semester, but the classes I am taking online and then doing my internship in the fall, so this was my last semester as a traditional student. My time at Auburn has been so bittersweet, and the past two years have taught me SO much. I am thankful to have spent so much time around so many creatives that are as fashion obsessed as I am.
Here's to the future.

little black dress

Monday, April 16, 2018

My whole life I have heard women speak of the "little black dress" and it's importance. I never used to understand when I was younger, but as I have aged I have learned of it's significance. Any time you need a dress for a function, whether it be cocktail or a ceremony, it is so easy to reach for. As time has gone on, I realized that I don't have the black dress I have always longed to reach for in those occasions. I think the most important thing about the black dress should be that it is conservative (in some way or fashion), while still being fun, and should be of a certain quality that lasts you for years to come. I love this dress from kensie because it meets all of those requirements, and then some. I love the cap sleeve, but I also appreciate the fact that it isn't a full one (because ya girl likes to raise her arms to the roof and this one is fully hailey daily dance approved).

the auburn plainsman

Sunday, April 8, 2018
Hey there!

This week I am sharing something a little different: an article posted by my University's newspaper, The Plainsman. I am so honored to be published in the fashion issue of the paper, and had the wonderful opportunity of being interviewed by Hannah Lester for the article. I loved getting back to why I started the blog, and had so much just recapping what blogging means to me. Thinking about it more though, it honestly reminded me why Hailey Daily has continued to evolve over the years: because the constant of fashion and style have stayed important to me. However, one thing I have lost sight of is the importance of staying rooted in genuine content, and not so being so involved in numbers and followings. Over the years, I have become more and more obsessed with growth and becoming a bigger, better blogger. Although having goals and ambition is obviously great, I have somewhat lost sight of my overarching goal that inspired me to start Hailey Daily almost four years ago: to share my outfit ideas on a creative platform that allows me to inspire others. I have become more and more concerned with growing a big following and having taken a step back after reading the article, I realized that I want to be more invested in my followers ability to relate to me and my style. I want to be more genuine. I want to care less about numbers and more about people. I want to be inspired by others work, and not by their stats. I want to go back to when I didn't stress out if I didn't post every single day. When I started Hailey Daily I didn't tell a soul, and I was doing it purely to have a creative outlet. I didn't intend for it to be something everyone or even anyone ever knew about, and it surely wasn't something I wanted to create a business or even side-gig out of. It was simply for me. Today, it still is for me, but I put a lot of pressure on myself about collaborations and whether people will like the content or not. I don't want to be driven by that, but rather by my own intuition and love for fashion. That's it.

So, having said all of that: I hope you that you will still follow along on my journey, and that you will hold me to this. I want to be on a platform that allows me to do nothing more than share who I am and what I love. I want to be more than just a blogger and influencer, I want to be present, in my life and on my blog and not stress about that.

If you want to read more of the article, check it out here :)

easter in kenzie

Friday, March 30, 2018

I cannot believe it is almost easter.. where has 2018 gone!? I feel like it was literally just New Years and now all of a sudden it is almost April. I am so excited about Easter this year because I am headed to North Georgia, and it is beautiful this time of year! I love this dress from Kensie because it can still be chilly up that way, and a "spring" dress could be pushing it a little. I feel like this is the perfect compromise for conservative meets cute.

trend board: sweaters 2018

Tuesday, March 20, 2018

This was actually a project I completed with my bestie, Miranda, for our Fashion Forecasting class! For this particular project we were assigned one clothing item to forecast for the Spring 2018 season. Miranda and I chose sweaters, and after interviewing female students around Auburn, Alabama, I created these boards to display the trends we predicted would be big into the spring season of '18. There are two separate themes above: Rainy Coffee Shop Mornings and A Weekend in Amsterdam, both of which display the color and fabric trends for the spring. What do you think about these trends? Let me know in the comments below!

why burberry is the bomb

Tuesday, February 27, 2018

Let me set the scene: Christopher Bailey, chief creative officer + president of Burberry for 17 years, is  launching the most iconic show of London Fashion Week. The lights play for a couple minutes and then Adwoa Aboah (both model and activist) opens the show with a white dress painted with rainbow stripes down the front left side, paired with a large jacket and large drop earrings. The show continues to drop jaws with pairings of both retro Burberry pieces from Bailey's beginning and rainbow color patterns all over the runway. From incorporating the rainbow flag into Burberry's signature print, to adoring it on everything possible: hats, vests, dresses, jackets, sweaters, you name it... what an iconic show. Now picture this: the last walk is none other than Cara Delevingne, known to be sexually fluid and openly supportive of the lgbtq+ community. If that wasn't enough to make me love the whole show, I don't know what would. The whole show was breathtaking (it is very slow starting... but if you watch it all it is so worth it!), and I love how it all came back to center at the end when Bailey walked out. As a gay man, it was his final stand to shed a light on the LGBTQ+ pride. In a snippet taken from Vogue: "That is surely why Bailey chose to wave farewell to Burberry in the way he did: with a collection full of the symbolism of gay pride and with a large donation to youth charities that support LGBTQ+ rights and mental health" he paraded (literally) out a collection of rainbow adorned pieces and what a freaking amazing show it was.

spring forward

Monday, February 26, 2018

Hello again!

What a whirlwind of a week this will be. I have three tests this week, formal on Friday, I am moving out of my apartment and into a new one on Saturday, and then leaving for NYC at 5 am on Sunday. WHOA. Once I get back from my week long trip to New York Trip (which I will be recapping on here!!), I am headed to Miami for Spring Break. I am SO ready to head to Florida and be warm just all the time. I love spring and summer shoes most, especially how fun and flirty they can be. I was in love with this style of heel last summer, and I am so beyond happy it has returned this season. I also love how easily these heels can be transformed from being structured with jeans, to being flirty with a mini dress or skirt. They would be perfect to transition into fall, too!

platform wedges

Sunday, February 18, 2018

Hey there!

WOW. What a weekend! I worked over 20 hours this weekend and I am so ready to take on this next week. Two weeks from today I will be in NYC, and the next I'll be in Miami! I had so much shooting for Kelsi Dagger today, as their shoes are just the best quality and always in the cutest styles. The new shoes  from their spring line are just to die for, and this pair is no exception! I am living for platforms right now, and this pair is the perfect mix of platform wedge, with such a boho vibe! I am so excited for spring and this pair will definitely be on my feet through summer. What pair are you loving?
