2016 favorites

Hey there!

2016 was definitely one for the books. Looking back it is kind of hard to even remember the beginning of the year! For many reasons it was bittersweet spending my last semester in Augusta and leaving friends and loved ones. It was a great one though, because I moved to Auburn, Alabama, started my junior year of college at AU, started a new job, and got to move one step closer to following my dream of working in the fashion industry. This year I want to post at the end of every month my 'faves', so that way I can look back in the future and see what was trending and what I was loving at the moment. To kick this off, I thought it would be fun to share my faves from 2016 as a way to close out the year with all the things that really made it my year. So, without further ado... let's get started!

Favorite Trends

1. Off-the-shoulder everything
2. Chokers + layered necklaces
3. Slip dresses + bomber jackets

Favorite Songs

1. Closer by Chainsmokers
Oh my goodness. I remember hearing this song for the first time this summer and thinking "I really like this song, it'll probably never get that big though"...I don't think I could have been more wrong. HUGE. That song was literally huge. I have never heard a song at a club and looked around and every.single.person knows every.single.word. It was good for a while, but I think we can all agree that it is definitely worn out.

2. One Dance by Drake
No words. Just so, so good and still good!

3. Pillowtalk by Zayn
I'll never forget when I heard this for the first time. I didn't realize then that it was Zayn (solo...wow that was fast) and I was like "dang, this is so good!" I still can't believe that I didn't realize it was Zayn. 15 year old, One Direction obsessed Hailey would have been very disappointed in me.

4. The Sound by The 1975
Anyone who knows me, knows that this is my all-time favorite song. I will dance to this song by myself in front of crowd any day of the week (and I have, just trust me). Even though it only made it on the radio a handful of times, it is still my go-to happy song and I will never get tired of it.

5. Starboy by The Weeknd
Of course Starboy had to make it, I mean the whole album is so good and it would be hard to leave it out of the 2016 faves.

prediction of 2017 fave?
Right now I am loving' That's What I Like' by Bruno Mars and also Hey Violet's "Guys My Age", and I can definitely see myself listening to both of them into 2017 (and going big!!)

Favorite Shows

1. Project Runway
I'd like to thank the Lifetime app for fueling my new and continuing addiction.

2. Grey's Anatomy
Also, Netflix. Thank you Netflix for making me stay up until odd hours of the night watching this show.

3. Stranger Things
Because, duh. Everyone was obsessed with this show this year and I'd be lying if I said I didn't jump on the bandwagon (forreal though, where is season 2 already!?)

Favorite Beauty Products

1. Laura Mercier Highlight
This year I really started to understand this whole 'highlight on fleek' thing. Prior to this year I kind of thought that highlight was too complicated for me (and some days it still kind of scares me lol), but I truly do understand the importance of it and what a difference it can make! This one is the only one I have used, so by default it is my fave :)

2. Anastasia Beverly Hills Cream Contour Kit
Another first this year: understanding the importance of a good contour. This concept always scared me, and I never really wanted to try it. To my surprise, when I fell down Youtube rabbit hole (always) it didn't seem that complicated. I purchased it this summer and I have used it every day since!

Favorite Items Purchased

1. Rebecca Minkoff Mini M.A.C.
Perfect size, shape, and color. Great as an everyday bag or just going-out.

2. Apple Watch - Gold 38mm, antique white band
Seriously the best investment piece! I don't go a day without wearing mine and I love how it has become one of my favorite accessories.

3. Tory Burch Lexington Leather Wedge
I waited a full year on these wedges just to be sure I really, really wanted them. I wore them every other day this summer and I can't wait to break them out in the spring!

4. Eye Buy Direct Notting Hill Medium
If you keep up with haileydailyxo.com, you know that I did a sponsorship with Eye Buy Direct a couple months ago. Little did I know that the frames they sent me would be incorporated into my everyday style. There wasn't really a day that I didn't wear these frames to class. I actually went back and purchased the pair above because of how much I loved the ones they sent me!

Favorite Memories
I thought it would be fun to show a highlight reel of my year in photos :)

Started the year off with some fun events including: Great Gatsby social, and winning Augusta University's Variety Show

And of course ADPi's Black Diamond Formal

Spring Break 2016 ... one for the books ;)

Beginning of summer '16..lots of sun and fun (and working..lol)

One of my favorite weeks of summer: Firefly Festival and Washington D.C.

And one of most rough weeks...move out day :(

 Moms birthday surprise: total hit!!
 The hardest of goodbyes
First week in Aubs: huge success! Met my two besties and future roomies :)

Found a favorite study spot and go-to lunch place!!

And of course I went home a couple of times.... ;)

Overall, 2016 was a huge hit. Lots of changes, lots of fun and most importantly lots of love. I am so blessed by the wonderful people in my life and I am so excited to move forward into 2017 with those same blessings :)

Happy New Year!

As always...

weekender bag | slip dress | similar sweater | booties | necklace

Hey there!

I hope that if you have been traveling or are now heading home, that you have had safe travels! If you follow me on Instagram (if you don't, you need to fix that asap: @haileydailyxo), you know that I have been traveling quite a bit over the past weeks. My mom are finally on the road trip that we have been talking about for years! We started in Denver, Colorado and then drove to Park City, Utah. I love traveling and I especially enjoy it when I know that all of my personal belongings are secure and easy to travel with! This weekender bag from Sloane Ranger makes for the perfect carry-on, as it meets the requirements of size and fits seriously so much stuff in it! I also love that it comes with a strap, so that way if I want to wear it on my shoulder or as a cross-body, I can do so very easily! I also love how sturdy, yet light-weight it is! It is truly the happy medium of bags!

tee |  camo shirt | skirt | booties

Hey there!

Can you believe it!? Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I couldn't be more excited. I am so happy that I am getting to spend Christmas surrounded by snow! Here is to wishing you all a very Merry Christmas :)

Now on to the fun stuff: the clothes! I love a good graphic tee. The only thing better than a graphic tee is a super soft graphic tee. The only thing better than a super soft graphic tee, is a graphic tee that is both super soft AND less than $40! I love this tee because it meets all of those requirements, and it has the cutest little saying on it. I have been loving button-up chambray and came shirts layered over graphic tees because it just adds an extra element of fun (also you look put together and edgy without even trying!)

You can shop more from Maude Boutique here :)
